FAQs

Are you open?

No, as of 20th March 2020 until further notice we are closed due to social distancing measures implemented by our government to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We'll be contacting everyone who has a booking at least two weeks before it's date to arrange rescheduling. If you need to, you can contact us here.

Is there an age limit?

Our escape rooms are designed for adults and are challenging to complete. We do allow children over the age of 11 to play as part of a team with at least 1 adult.

For groups with adults in, anyone over the age of 11 will be able to contribute. We can only allow groups of children aged 16+ to play without an adult.
Groups of children between 11 but 16 MUST have an adult participating in the room with them as part of the 6 players; so 5 children and 1 adult is fine, we do not allow 6 children playing on their own.

Can I bring more than 6 players?

No. Our games are designed for a maximum of 6 players and we cannot accommodate more than 6.
If you have a larger party you can book both of our rooms at the same time for a max of 12 players.

Where are you located?

We are an independent escape room venue in the heart of the town centre. We are on Jeffries Passage, which is the small passage that connects the High Street with North Street at the top end. Find us on Google Maps

What is your cancellation policy?

CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

If you are worried about visiting for your game, rest assured we've already put in place several measures to help you maintain your hygiene. The NHS advises everyone to "wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds" This is a very effective method of keeping yourself free from the COVID-19 virus. We have soap and hot water available. We are also cleaning areas of high volume touching in the room between games.

CANCELLATION

During this difficult time, we've made a significant temporary change to our cancellation policy to give you more flexibility. If your booking is within 2 weeks just let us know if you'd like to reschedule or refund to a gift certificate and we'll do this for you with NO CHARGE and no expiry on the gift certificate. Contact us if you'd like to reschedule. *We reserve the right to change this policy back to the original terms at any time, but it is unlikely to revert before 31st March 2020.

We try to be as flexible as possible when you need to make a change. If you're more than 2 weeks away from your booking then we'll be able to reschedule you, or refund your booking to your method of payment or a gift certificate (whichever suits). For bookings happening within 2 weeks of your request we'll either reschedule you or refund to a gift certificate. Due to staff costs we are unable to reschedule or refund bookings cancelled within a week of their start date. See new policy (due to COVID-19) above.

How do I redeem a gift certificate?

Select a slot you'd like to book and go through to payment. Here, at the top you can use the gift certificate code. If you have an off-peak voucher and want to select a peak time then the balance difference will be payable at this point.

Where can I find reviews?

We have many review on Trivadvisor, Facebook and Google+

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players enter a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles within a 60-minute time limit.

Who is this for?

In short... Everyone. Mates, Family, Corporate Groups, Stag & Hen, Birthdays. You're all welcome!

Can children play too?

Children are welcome to play as long as there is an adult playing too. If you've not done an escape room before then be aware, they are challenging. There may be points at which you are stuck with what to do next, but don't worry we will happily help you along with unlimited clues. The content of both rooms is appropriate for children.

How long does it last?

Your experience will last around 90 minutes, including a short briefing beforehand, and a chat about how it went. You’ll have 60 minutes to solve the room and escape. It isn't easy, though, so you'll need to assemble an awesome team! We allow unlimited clues so don't worry if you think you might get stuck we'll help you along your way!

What if we fail to solve the room?

Don't worry — if you're stuck we'll be able to give you clues to help you on your way. Not everyone will solve the room but you'll still have fun and get your picture taken. There is no limit on the number of clues, but if you're an experienced players then you'll be battling for a top spot on our 'No Clue' leader board.

Can we play today?

There is a possibility we'll have a slot available on the day.

How accessible is the escape room?

Unfortunately we have no wheelchair access. We're on the 3rd floor, so access is via a stairwell. During the game, there's no excessive physical activity required, but to solve the rooms at least one team member has to have reasonably good eye sight. We do play music and sound effects; however, these are not essential for solving the rooms.

Please let us know if there is anything we might be able to do to assist in your visit.
